Choosing an editor is an important task in the publishing process. You want to choose the right one for you, one you mesh well with. I offer a sample edit of the first five pages to potential clients. This is a great opportunity to feel each other out. You will get a sense of my editing style and see if I’m a good fit for you.
Proofreading/Copy Edit
This is the last step before you hit publish. Your manuscript has already been edited, but you want one more set of eyes to go over it. This process focuses on punctuation, spelling, grammar, repetitiveness, and wrong or missing words.
Plot errors, continuity, structure, and flow will not be pointed out at this stage. This is a simple one-time read through.
Cost is $0.005 per word.
Full Edit
Full Edit is a fully detailed and comprehensive look at your manuscript. It includes the Copy Edit stage as well as an overall look at the structure of your story, character development, flow, pacing, continuity, minor fact checking, and proper tenses. I use the Track Changes feature in Microsoft Word and reference The Chicago Manual of Style and the Merriam-Webster dictionary. I will read your manuscript multiple times if necessary at no additional cost. As an added bonus, I will also polish up your book’s blurb for free.
Cost is $0.0075 per word.
Payment
A deposit of $50.00 will be collected to reserve your space on the schedule. The deposit will be applied to the author’s selected service.
All invoices are processed via PayPal.
Please Note
Depending on the size of your manuscript or the services you require, turnaround time can vary from 1 to 3 weeks. If your manuscript requires multiple rounds of edits, you will not be charged for the extra time I put into your project. Rates are based on original word count at the start of a project.
